This three-week course will teach students the historical significance of the artists Leonardo Da Vinci, Claude Monet, and Eduard Degas. Students will create a work based on each artist. Materials needed for the course include:
  • Week 1: something to take apart (old VHS tape, pen, stapler, etc.), pencil, eraser, pens, markers, white drawing paper or sketchbook.
  • Week 2: tempera or acrylic paints (blues, whites, pinks, greens), something to squirt paint on, paintbrush, 3 sheets of white tagboard of poster board (cut into fourths), jar of water, masking or painters tape, pencils, erasers.
  • Week 3: scissors, 2 sheets of white tagboard or poster board (cut into fourths), pencils, crayons, watercolors (in a tray like Crayola makes), paintbrush.

Day/Time: Mondays @ 10a CST (first class is January 6th)
Class Length: 1 hour
Duration: 3 weeks

Grade Range: 2-8 (Early Elementary – Middle Grades)

Course capacity: 8 families
